Early Life

Prabhas was born to Siva Kumari and the late U. Suryanarayana Raju. His family is from mogalturu near Bhimavaram. He is the second of three children. He has one brother, Prabodh, and a sister, Pragathi.

Prabhas started his movie career with Eeshwar in 2002. In 2003, he was the lead in Raghavendra. Both of Prabhas's early movies allowed him to stand out as a hero in Tollywood. He gained stardom with in 2004 with M.S. Raju's film, Varsham, opposite Trisha Krishnan. Despite the success of Varsham, Adavi Raamudu and Chakram did not live up to expectations. However, in September 2005 he made a comeback with Chatrapathi, opposite actress Shriya Saran. Chatrapathi was followed by Billa, Bujjigadu, and Ek Niranjan. He gained major success again with the release of Darling in 2010. He next films, Mr. Perfect and Rebel, are set for release in 2011.
